Chain Shutdown: Final Bridge-Out Deadline
Abstract · Other · December 15, 2026
Abstract, the Pudgy Penguins team's consumer Ethereum L2, is winding down; users must bridge assets off the chain before it shuts down on December 15, 2026.
Abstract, the consumer-focused Ethereum layer-2 built by Igloo Inc (the company behind Pudgy Penguins), is winding down after almost three years. On October 6, 2026 the team announced that a standalone consumer crypto chain proved unsustainable, citing a restricted DeFi ecosystem, thin on-chain liquidity, minimal institutional crossover and a limited budget versus competitors. Users can move funds through the Migration Hub at migrate.abs.xyz or the native bridge at native-bridge.abs.xyz (about a 3-hour delay). The chain shuts down on December 15, 2026, and any funds not bridged off Abstract by that date will become inaccessible. The Abstract team will help ecosystem apps migrate to other chains; Abstract Global Wallet and the expected XP-based token never reached a TGE. Key topics: Abstract shutdown, Abstract L2 sunset, bridge deadline, Pudgy Penguins, Igloo, consumer L2.
