STRK20 Privacy Standard Mainnet Launch

Starknet (STRK) · Releases & Updates · June 9, 2026

Starknet launches STRK20 on mainnet June 9 — the first compliant privacy standard for ERC-20 tokens, hiding balances and transfers by default while enabling selective disclosure for regulators.

STRK20 is Starknet's native privacy layer for ERC-20 tokens, integrated directly at the token level via ZK proofs rather than external mixers or wrapped assets. Announced in March 2026 by StarkWare, the standard allows any token on Starknet to operate with confidential balances and private transfers by default, while preserving full composability with DeFi. Selective disclosure lets users share transaction records with auditors, regulators, or accountants when legally required. The first integration is with Ekubo DEX, enabling anonymous swaps and staking from day one. Follows the strkBTC privacy launch on May 12.

- Balances and transfers hidden by default using ZK proofs built on Cairo and Starknet's native architecture - Selective disclosure: users can share records with regulators or auditors via viewing keys when required - First DeFi integration: Ekubo DEX enables anonymous swaps and staking directly from the Starknet Privacy Pool - Composable with all existing DeFi: shield, transfer, and interact with protocols without exposing wallet identity
