Nillion launches Blacklight L1 mainnet on Ethereum on October 5, 2026; node operators migrate from Nillion L2 with a 70,000 NIL minimum stake.
Nillion, the privacy and secure-computation network behind the NIL token, is moving its Blacklight node network from Nillion L2 to Ethereum L1. Blacklight L1 mainnet is scheduled for October 5, 2026, when L1 node operations and L1 rewards begin. Node operators can migrate from September 26 through October 5: claim L2 rewards, unstake NIL, bridge NIL and ETH back to Ethereum and register fresh L1 nodes. Blacklight L1 nodes hold encrypted shares of Covenants and publish them onchain once a Covenant's condition is met. Minimum stake stays 70,000 NIL; rewards come from 0.5% annual inflation plus trigger fees. Blacklight L2 will be halted later in 2026.
