Network Shutdown and Final ICX to SODA

ICON Network permanently shuts down on December 31, 2026, the final deadline to migrate ICX to SODA on SODAX; the chain becomes a read-only archive.

ICON (ICX), the Korean layer-1 blockchain launched in 2017, is being retired as the project completes its rebrand and migration to SODAX, a cross-chain execution and liquidity system running across 18+ networks with SODA on Sonic. According to the ICON Foundation, the ICON Network permanently shuts down on December 31, 2026, which is also the final deadline for ICX to SODA migration. After that date ICX can no longer be migrated, the chain is permanently halted and only a read-only archive remains for historical transaction lookups. Two-way ICX and SODA migration already closed in late September 2026, leaving a one-way ICX to SODA swap. The network has been in economic shutdown since March 2026, with ICX emissions and staking rewards halted. ICX holders on exchanges or self-custody should migrate via SODAX Migrate before the deadline.
