L2 Shutdown: Final Withdrawal Deadline

Blast (BLAST) · Other · October 26, 2026

Blast is shutting down its Ethereum L2; users must withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet via the Blast interface by October 26, 2026.

Blast, the Ethereum layer-2 network that launched in November 2023 with native yield on ETH and stablecoins and $20M in funding from Paradigm and Standard Crypto, is winding down. On October 2, 2026 the team announced that operating costs exceed the revenue generated by the L2 and that there is no credible path to economic sustainability. All users are asked to withdraw assets, including Blast PWA balances, from Blast to Ethereum mainnet. The withdrawal delay is being cut to 24 hours, but withdrawals pause for about one week first while Blast unwinds its Lido staked ETH position. October 26, 2026 is the last day to withdraw through the normal Blast interface; after that, funds stay recoverable only by interacting directly with the Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum L1, with instructions to be published before the deadline. Key topics: Blast shutdown, BLAST token, L2 sunset, bridge withdrawal deadline.
