Arthur Hayes' Flop Labs plans a large-scale FLOP airdrop in Q4 2026, ahead of Flop Network's genesis block targeted for Q1 2027.
BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes is coming out of retirement to lead Flop Labs and build Flop Network, a blockchain designed for the AI agent economy. Its native token FLOP is meant to serve as the currency AI agents use to pay for compute, inference, memory and eventually agent-to-agent commerce, using a proof-of-useful-inference model where miners contribute real computational power for AI workloads and earn FLOP as compensation. Flop Labs is taking a 100% fair-launch approach with no presale or venture funding. A large-scale FLOP airdrop is planned for Q4 2026, notably ahead of the network's genesis block, which is targeted for Q1 2027, meaning early recipients would hold the token before the live chain exists. The only stated requirement to qualify so far is to follow the official @flop_labs account on X. Full tokenomics are expected to be released shortly.
