Glamsterdam Hoodi Testnet Upgrade
Ethereum (ETH) · Releases & Updates · TBA
Ethereum's Glamsterdam hard fork on the Hoodi testnet, first set for October 26, 2026, has been postponed. The Ethereum Foundation has not set a new date.
Glamsterdam, Ethereum's next network upgrade combining the Amsterdam execution layer and Gloas consensus layer forks, was scheduled to activate on the Hoodi testnet at epoch 132,352 (October 26, 2026, 17:42:48 UTC), following its Sepolia activation on October 6. On October 22 the Ethereum Foundation announced that the Hoodi activation is postponed so core developers can further investigate how EIP-8037 (gas repricing for state creation) interacts with mainnet smart contracts. The updated client configuration contains no replacement epoch or timestamp, and the new schedule will be announced later. Headline changes in Glamsterdam: enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS, EIP-7732), block-level access lists (BALs, EIP-7928) for parallel validation, and gas repricing for state creation and access (EIP-8037, EIP-8038). The mainnet activation date has not been decided. Key topics: Ethereum Glamsterdam upgrade, Hoodi testnet delay, ePBS, ETH hard fork, L1 scaling.
