Quantum-Resistant Testnet Launch
TRON (TRX) · Releases & Updates · July 3, 2026
TRON enabled post-quantum signatures on its Nile Testnet on July 3, 2026, as the first major L1 to transition to post-quantum cryptography.
TRON, one of the largest blockchain networks by transaction volume with $70B+ in stablecoin supply, is transitioning to quantum-resistant cryptography. Justin Sun announced a Q2 2026 testnet launch and Q3 2026 mainnet migration. Post-quantum signatures went live on the Nile Testnet on July 3, 2026, after Committee Proposal #20628 enabled FN_DSA_512, and the quantum-resistant network upgrade is now targeted for completion by year-end, which would make TRON the first major Layer 1 to complete a post-quantum cryptographic upgrade at this scale. The move prepares TRON's infrastructure (200M+ accounts, $70B+ USDT) against the emerging threat of quantum computing breaking current elliptic curve cryptography.
