Polygon Labs shuts down the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta sequencer on July 1, 2026, ending its ZK-rollup scaling effort after running at a $1M+ annual loss. Announced June 2025 with 12 months notice. Users must withdraw all assets and LP positions before the deadline; unremoved funds are migrated to Ethereum for claim. Polygon refocuses on PoS stablecoin payments/RWAs and the AggLayer cross-chain settlement layer.
