Mt. Gox trustee extends the creditor repayment deadline by a year to October 31, 2027 (JST); unpaid creditors must finish procedures.
Mt. Gox, the Tokyo bitcoin exchange that collapsed in 2014, has a new creditor repayment deadline of October 31, 2027 (Japan Standard Time). In an official notice dated October 16, 2026, rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi said that, with court permission, the deadline for the Base, Early Lump-Sum and Intermediate Repayments moved from October 31, 2026 to October 31, 2027, because many creditors have not completed the required procedures or hit issues during the process. It is the latest in a series of yearly extensions. On-chain trackers still attribute tens of thousands of BTC to trustee wallets (unofficial estimate), so wallet movements and exchange transfers before the deadline remain a watched bitcoin supply risk.
