L1 & Rollups Resume After MoveVM Patch
Initia (INIT) · Releases & Updates · November 2, 2026
Initia plans to restart its L1 and rollups on November 2, 2026 with an audited MoveVM patch after the ~$2.7M exploit; no rollback, DEX starts paused.
Initia is a Layer 1 blockchain built around interwoven rollups (Minitias) and the MoveVM, with INIT as its native token. In late October 2026 a MoveVM bug let an attacker mint unbacked token balances and bridge out roughly $2.7M in real assets, and the team halted the Initia L1 and its rollups. On October 30 Initia officially announced that the L1 and rollups are planned to resume operations on Monday, November 2, 2026. The chain upgrade applies an independently audited MoveVM patch, isolates the attacker's remaining forged balances and adds extra security measures without rolling back transaction history. The backing of AUSD0, USDC.n and WETH is to be fully restored before the restart with no user action required. The Initia DEX starts paused while a designated account rebalances pools toward market prices, with any rebalancing profits returned to affected liquidity providers. Bridges and exchanges resume transfers after monitoring, and LayerZero OFT withdrawals of WETH and AUSD0 are set to 24 hours.
